Circular dichroism of peptides can be used to determine the percentage of alpha-helix, beta-sheets and random structures. Consequently, circular dichroism of peptides has various applications such as in de novo structure elucidation or batch-to-batch comparison. It can also be used to understand the effect of specific conditions (solvent, temperature, etc.) on the secondary structure.
